Meet our External Sales Team

Adam Doney

Adam has been with Rotec just over 8 months. Previously, he worked for a hydraulics company in Falmouth for 12 years, working his way up from the trade counter to sales manager and board member, overseeing all company sales, purchasing and manpower, before moving onto a challenging new project managing a large system build for an offshore client. Adam’s extensive experience of working in the hydraulics industry across a variety sectors including marine, MOD, superyachts and offshore has made him a valuable addition to Rotec.

Adam decided to join Rotec as it gave him the opportunity to immerse himself in the part of the job he enjoys the most, which is getting out and meeting people. In his spare time, Adam coaches his son’s rugby team at Penryn RFC, kayaks and enjoys listening to podcasts when out on the road.

Dale Lockart

Dale joined Rotec in September, which makes him the newest edition to the Sales team.

Previously, Dale spent 7 years as a Service and Installation Manager with a hydraulic systems company in Gloucester, looking after a small team of service engineers, dealing with customers on a regular basis and quoting for work. Prior to that he spent some time in New Zealand with a hydraulics company covering a variety of roles from component sales to CAD drawings and hands-on service work, before moving to the UAE supervising a machine shop in a ship yard.

Dale was excited to explore and develop the opportunities for Rotec’s services in and around Gloucestershire. He was attracted to working for a privately owned company with a family feel, as opposed to a larger corporation.

In his free time Dale enjoys spending quality time with the family, photography as well as the occasional DIY project on the house.

Welcome Steve

Steve Smith - Sales Depot Assistant, Stroud

Previously Storeman for a diesel system’s company, Steve joined Rotec at the beginning of July. He was attracted to the Sales Depot Assistant position because of the variety it offers. The combination of hands-on-work and office based responsibilities appealed to him and he decided to apply.

Steve is a self-proclaimed football fanatic and a staunch Liverpool supporter. He used to train with the Forest Green Rovers and continues to play 5x a week with a variety of local amateur clubs. He also mentors his younger brother, who qualified for the Aston Villa under 18s.

Steve likes to keep busy and enjoys spending time outdoors climbing and loves hitting the board – whether it be skateboarding, snowboarding and kite boarding.

After spending a week at our HQ in Taunton, getting hands on with a variety of hydraulic equipment and learning about our products and services, Steve joined our Stroud depot. His great attitude, strong IT background and technical aptitude make him a valuable addition to the small but busy team.

On behalf of the Rotec team, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Steve!

Hose Doctor: minimizing downtime at local quarry

Rotec were pleased to be recently joined by two Hose Doctor operatives: Matt Bearpark and Phil O’Connor. Matt covers Somerset and Bristol areas, while Phil covers areas surrounding Cardiff, Gloucester and Bristol.

Tower Leg Winches

Matt was recently called out to a local quarry, where two rams were leaking and needed to be back at work asap.

Matt relates:

“One ram was bent and the other had deep gouging in the rod causing leaking from both rams. Brand new rods had to machined and fitted along with new seal kits fitted. After removing rams from the excavator arm fitted inside the crusher housing I took them to Ram Reman” (Rotec’s sister company based in Wimborne, specialising in repair and manufacture of rams – hydraulic cylinders).

“The removal and refit took me 4 hours in total, while Ram Reman spent a day repairing and testing the ram functions, ready for refit. I was very happy with the feedback I received, the customer was really pleased with the short breakdown period and now the arms are working a lot tighter than they had before.”

Due to time constraints the repaired rams were not re-sprayed, but now work better than ever! Visit Ram Reman’s website for more information (new site currently under construction).
