Welcome Steve

Steve Smith - Sales Depot Assistant, Stroud

Previously Storeman for a diesel system’s company, Steve joined Rotec at the beginning of July. He was attracted to the Sales Depot Assistant position because of the variety it offers. The combination of hands-on-work and office based responsibilities appealed to him and he decided to apply.

Steve is a self-proclaimed football fanatic and a staunch Liverpool supporter. He used to train with the Forest Green Rovers and continues to play 5x a week with a variety of local amateur clubs. He also mentors his younger brother, who qualified for the Aston Villa under 18s.

Steve likes to keep busy and enjoys spending time outdoors climbing and loves hitting the board – whether it be skateboarding, snowboarding and kite boarding.

After spending a week at our HQ in Taunton, getting hands on with a variety of hydraulic equipment and learning about our products and services, Steve joined our Stroud depot. His great attitude, strong IT background and technical aptitude make him a valuable addition to the small but busy team.

On behalf of the Rotec team, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Steve!

Joe Lang – Summer Work Experience

Joe Lang - summer work experience

When: 24th June – end of summer

The 16 year old Joe joined Rotec for the summer holidays to help us with continuous stock taking and assist Goods In/Out with packaging components and products, ready for transport.

Joe is starting his Digital Media Studies at Bridgwater College once the summer is out, which he eventually hopes to merge with his other interests in art and cars. Joe enjoys visiting car shows and car meets, and taking photographs. He was recently selected for a project with Studio Digital in Watchet, where he already spent some time developing his arts skills, to take part in a project in partnership with Somerset Waste. Joe is also a big fan of Manchester United.

Joe has already proven himself to be a diligent and steadfast worker and we hope to welcome him back in the future, when he is on a break from college.

Welcome to the team Joe!

It has been an incredible journey so far and we look forward to supporting the team for years to come.

Specialised training for our engineers

We have received the latest certification and passport cards for engineers whom have carried out training week commencing 25/03.

At Rotec, we believe the work we do is only as good as the people who do it. Maintaining high standards and safe work practices is paramount, which is why we invest into high quality training for all of our engineers. A number of them attended courses in March, designed specifically for the Fluid Power industry by The British Fluid Power Association (BFPA):

The engineers have now been supplied with the certification and updated engineer passport cards.

TRAINING PASSPORT SCHEME FROM THE BFPA

“This new initiative developed by the BFPA aims to help you keep an easily accessible record of the BFPA training you have achieved. You will be able to show these training passport cards to employers and customers to confirm qualifications and they will act as a reminder for when individual training courses need to be renewed.”

You can read more about Engineer Passports on the BFPA website.
