Rotec shortlisted in two categories at the 2023 Somerset Business Awards

The most outstanding businesses that Somerset has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the 2023 Somerset Business Awards.

It has been revealed that Rotec Hydraulics Ltd has been shortlisted in two categories at the awards – ‘Large Business of the Year’ and ‘Somerset Manufacturer and Producer’ Award.

Rotec Hydraulics Ltd is thriving, reporting significant revenue growth over the last few years. The team have embraced new and emerging technologies, received outstanding customer feedback, and achieved a multitude of accreditations and certifications. In addition to this, the company’s investment in new equipment and their team has resulted in Rotec being shortlisted for the ‘Large Business of the Year’ award category at the 2023 Somerset Business Awards.

Shortlisted for the ‘Somerset Manufacturer and Producer of the year’ category at this years’ awards, is testament to Rotec’s innovative development of a multitude of high quality engineered solutions, including bespoke winches for the utilities market and integrated pipework systems for testing facilties.

Rotec celebrates outstanding team members at Staff Awards 2022

The Rotec Staff Awards acknowledges and celebrates team members who have made a positive impact, achieved results and those who go above and beyond within their work role.

Our company works with hundreds of clients every year, engineering solutions, providing exemplary customer service and delivering high quality products.

Rotec’s team span three service centres and have a range of skill sets from engineering to purchasing, accountancy to design. 

Every Rotec employee is given the opportunity to nominate a colleague for any award category. The nominations are then presented to the judging panel, consisting of senior management and directors.

This year, a record number of nominations was received, with a representative span of submissions across all locations and facets of the business. The judging panel commented on how difficult selecting a shortlist and winner were for each award category.

The judging panel decided to shortlist and name as winners the following individuals:

Personal Development Award

An award to acknowledge a team member who has shown a commitment to the growth and development of their skill set within the workplace, whether through training courses, facing new challenges or through a change of working role.

Rotec Celebrate as Double Finalists at the Somerset Business Awards 2022

Rotec Hydraulics Ltd celebrates being double finalists at this year’s prestigious Somerset Business Awards (SBAs) for ‘Best Use of Technology’ and ‘Somerset Manufacturer and Producer’ Award.

The awards, run annually by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, received a record- breaking number of entries and only the most outstanding businesses with a head office in Somerset were named finalists.

Our investment and integration of Parker Internet of Things (IoT) technology earned us a place at the grand final in the ‘Best Use of Technology’ award category. IoT enables engineers to remotely control and monitor various performance and safety parameters using strategically placed, wireless sensors to provide data and control systems over the internet.

Named finalist for the ‘Somerset Manufacturer and Producer of the year’ category is testament to the team’s innovative development of several bespoke winch systems for both leading regional and national names within the Utilities sector.

Somerset Chamber Executive Director, Emma Rawlings, said,

The winners were announced at the Grand Final on 11th March, which celebrated the extraordinary organisations within the county of Somerset. Rotec finished as double finalists – a great achievement amongst such a high calibre of local businesses.

Since 1979, Rotec have been a source of expertise and support for local industry, manufacturers and producers. The company has grown substantially, from those humble beginnings from old butcher’s shop supplying a wide range of hydraulic hose & connector products, to a leading specialist provider of pneumatic and electronic components & systems, serving a wide variety of organisations operating across the public and private sectors across the UK.
