LOLER Hydraulic Service Engineer

Rotec Hydraulic Ltd, established in 1979 and part of the Rotec Group is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated ‘LOLER / Hydraulic Service Engineer’ to apply for a position working predominantly on customer sites and out of our Stroud Service Centre.

The successful candidate will be required to travel to client sites throughout the UK and regular overnight stays will be required.

The service centres and service engineers support a wide variety of applications and markets, including marine, aerospace, utilities, mobile and industrial.

Rotec Hydraulics Ltd is seeking applicants who are experienced, motivated and can carry out thorough inspections of various types of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER & PUWER to a high standard.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working predominantly on-site across the UK, the successful candidate will conduct thorough inspections of various types of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER & PUWER.

The engineer will identify, document and report any equipment defects, malfunctions, and safety concerns.

The engineer will also support a wide range of hydraulic engineering projects across the business, as and when required.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will have

  • Experience of carrying out Lifting Equipment inspections
  • LEEA Qualifications, or time served in relevant industry.
  • Good knowledge of inspection techniques applicable to Lifting Equipment

 

BFPA qualifications are also desirable. However, full training will be provided if necessary.

Electrical Engineering Technician (Taunton / Plymouth)

Rotec Hydraulics Ltd is seeking applicants who are time served, experienced in industrial or marine electrical applications with the capability of working with software programmes of different manufacturers includingPLC, HMI and Scada systems in addition to single and 3 phase systems, fault finding and the occasional panel building.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working predominantly in a small team either within our own service centres or at customer sites to support a wide range of motion control engineering projects across the business. The ‘Electrical Engineering Technician’ role is predominantly hands on and requires the ideal candidate to be highly motivated and able to support and provide technical resolutions whilst working closely with our design teams and service centre leads.

Hydraulic Engineer (Taunton Service Centre)

What you’ll do

We are looking for an individual who can carry out engineering work at our Rotec service centres and on-site, at a client’s premises, as requested by the Operations Manager.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring work is completed to specification and in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations, our procedures and quality standards.
  • Confirming all work is properly tested in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, and approved by a nominated person prior to despatch.
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring work is of the highest standard and satisfies the customer’s requirements.
  • Ensuring work is completed on-time and within budget, identifying additional work not included in the original estimate and reporting information to Senior Management.
  • Identifying personal training needs and liaise with the Operations Manager to undertake appropriate training.
  • Representing Rotec in a professional and responsible manner. Communicate effectively and appropriately with customers.
  • Meeting all Health & Safety requirements and complete/act upon Risk Assessments as appropriate.
  • Keeping the workshop and all working areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • Ensuring timely completion of stock requisitions for all components removed from stock.
  • Ensuring the safe-keeping, regular maintenance, and professional appearance of company vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • To communicate and work as part of a small team effectively.
  • To be prepared to travel for work purposes and carry out service and repair work on a customer’s premises.
  • To be prepared to work outside of normal working hours as and when required.
  • Occasional overtime opportunities are also available.

 

 

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in general engineering and servicing of hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of electrics/electronics is desirable, but not essential
  • Relevant engineering qualifications
  • BFPA qualifications are highly desirable, but training will be given where required
  • Good communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Energetic, self motivated and a problem-solver

Rotec Hydraulics Ltd is a specialist company providing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical services that include design, manufacturing, servicing and pipework solutions. The service centres and service engineers support a wide variety of applications and markets, including marine, aerospace, utilities, mobile and industrial.

Rotec is seeking applicants to support predominantly a marine based service outlet. However, we would also encourage applicants to apply who currently have either hydraulic or mechanical skills from ‘industry’ and would be interested in becoming a hydraulic engineer and developing their skills set.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working predominantly in a small team locally but with opportunity to support a wide range of synergy engineering projects across the business. The ‘Hydraulic engineer role’ requires the ideal candidate to be proficient in supporting a wide range of hydraulic engineering skills. This includes fault diagnosis, manufacturing pipework solutions including hose assemblies, product knowledge to support a strip, survey and overhaul of hydraulic equipment/components.
