07/07/2009 Changes following our 30th Birthday
On 1st July 2009 Rotec Hydraulics Ltd celebrated 30 years in business. More significantly perhaps Terry Light, who started the business in 1979, celebrated 30 years with Rotec! Having been a shareholder and executive director since the company’s inception Terry led the management team that bought Rotec when his former partners retired in 2007. Since the buyout, under Terry’s guidance as MD, Rotec, despite the present market place, has enjoyed a very successful two years. Having made the 30 years service and a sprightly 66 years of age Terry has decided to step back, albeit only a little. Paul Prouse, Rotec’s Sales Director and latterly Joint MD with Terry, is now MD; Terry’s new role is as Operations Director responsible, primarily, for production and procurement. Andy Rimes continues as our Technical Director and Doug Richardson as Company Secretary and Finance Manager. I do hope you will join with us in wishing Paul and Terry every success in their new roles. The theory is that Terry will now work a 3 day week allowing him to enjoy more time with his family, watching Somerset and driving his Jaguars. So far it is still a theory! Doug Shopland, Chairman
