Established in 1979 as a supplier of hydraulic hoses and couplings, Rotec, still privately owned and operated today, is now a leading specialist provider of hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic components and systems to a wide variety of organisations operating across the public and private sectors.
Our history has been characterised by steady growth, expansion, and a series of accreditations and appointments that have recognised our high operational standards. In 1996 we became ISO9000 accredited, in 2000, the world's largest manufacturer of fluid power components, Parker Hannifin plc, appointed us as a Certified Hose and Connector Distributor, and in 2003 we became a Parker Hannifin Hydraulic Technology Centre and Certified Filtration Distributor.
Today, Rotec operates from two locations. Our Head Office in Taunton specialises in servicing the aerospace and defence sectors, and is home to our main engineering workshops, our design and build facilities, and the company's largest volume of stock. Our Plymouth base provides maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities and specialises in supplying services to the marine sector. Both offices have ParkerStore outlets, with Plymouth being a certified Ministry of Defence Def.Stan hose assembly location.
Following a management buyout at the end of 2007, Rotec is now managed day-to-day by Paul Prouse, Sales Director, and Andy Rimes, Technical Director, with Chairman Doug Shopland and Managing Director Terry Light taking responsibility for the overall development of the business. Richard Renfree leads our innovative sales and design team, working closely with our fully equipped service operation, whilst our engineering division delivers a complete design, build and installation service for hydraulic, electronic/computer/PLC integration and pneumatic systems.
